7321 Survey of Archaeological Specialists 2016

Tender description

The project will undertake a survey of archaeological specialists to provide trend data in this part of the heritage sector. It will build upon the results of the Survey of Archaeological Specialists 2000 and 2010 and provide data suitable for workforce planning. In doing so it will also identify the economic impact of the post-recession market upon their work and indicate any areas where potential skills losses might affect the capacity of the archaeological profession to provide specialist advice. This will then allow priority areas for the delivery of training to be identified. The project is jointly financed by Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland and Historic Environment Service of Wales (Cadw) and will cover the United Kingdom.
