Tender description

The Health and Social Care Act 2012 requires each local authority area to commission a local Healthwatch service, from 1st April 2013 onwards. Trafford Council are looking to procure a suitably qualified provider to undertake the Trafford Healthwatch Service. The contractor will operate as an independent corporate body, legally registered with a Board of Directors, a constitution, and meet the relevant legal requirements. The functions of Local Healthwatch are described in the Health and Social Care Act. The Contractor will reflect the requirements of the Act, as stated in the Healthwatch England’s ‘Understanding the Legislation’ paper, dated February 2014.
