Study into the applicability of concretes using alternative binders in the HS2 programme

Tender description

HS2 Ltd requires a Supplier to: • identify a range of concretes using alternative binders to Portland cement that result in a lower ‘cradle-to-gate’ carbon intensity, compared to conventional Portland cement-based mixes; • assess their applicability to different concrete elements within the programme; and • estimate the carbon reductions achievable through using them in the applicable elements. We envisage that the majority of the work will need to be conducted by an experienced concrete specialist. Further details on the scope for this task can be found in Appendix A (Required Services) attached.
