SmartKlub Leeds - Co-production 1st Meeting Hydrogen and Alternative Fuels Workshop

The Workshop is to be held on Tuesday 15th November 2016. Leeds City Council are planning to make and attract inward investment in new alternative fuel infrastructure - such as a natural gas refuelling station and electric vehicle charging points. There are also emerging projects to use data at city scale. Northern Gas Networks recently published their H21 Leeds City Gate project report, with the aim of determining the feasibility of converting the existing natural gas distribution network in Leeds to 100% hydrogen. In addition the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) made available a £2m fund in 2016 to support the purchase of hydrogen vehicles. It is understood that OLEV intend to make available a similar fund in 2017, which may be focussed on infrastructure for these vehicles. The objective of this workshop is to use the framework of SmartKlub Leeds and co-produce project plans that can develop innovative low and zero carbon projects in the city. The specific aims of the workshop are to explore the opportunities for hydrogen and other alternative fuelled vehicle projects in Leeds, and understand the appetite for potential partnerships to bid for funding programmes in 2017.
