Tender description

It is Kent County Council's intention to commission a new offer to support vulnerable people with Mental Health (MH) needs across the county. Our aim is to align the current MH Housing Related Support and MH Supporting Independence Service budgets and commission a different model of support that: — Promotes and maintains people's independence and wellbeing — Enables people to have choice and control — Enables us to work more strategically with providers — Incentivises the right behaviour — being outcome and recovery focussed — Supports the move to most suitable accommodation, wherever possible people having their own tenancy in community — Avoids duplication, waste and confusion — Identifies and fixes gaps in pathways — Develops better range of housing options — in accordance with Accommodation Strategy We are currently exploring opportunities to work with and through our new Live Well Kent Strategic Partners — Porchlight and Shaw Trust. When we recently let the Live Well Kent Contract we included the following clause in the contract; ‘Additional elements may be added to the delivery of this contract during the lifetime of this contract. This would be agreed by both parties and may carry a different contract term. This may include such elements as Supporting Independence Services and/or Mental Health Supported Accommodation either directly provided or through other payment methods. (This would not exceed the overall financial threshold or possible contract term of seven years).’ We have had preliminary conversations with Porchlight and Shaw Trust and will be pursuing with them and wider stakeholders what this could mean in reality.
