Tender description

Home Scotland is divided into four management areas; Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dumfries with each area covering a range of property numbers and types. Home is looking to appoint suitable contractors to deliver the grounds maintenance and communal cleaning services from April 2017. The Edinburgh area covers properties in Edinburgh and Rosyth in Fife. In Edinburgh there are 3 main areas; Southhouse with approx. 160 properties in 3 stories walk up blocks with private gardens at the front communal areas at the rear and houses with private gardens. There are a number of grassed areas and shrub beds; there are 3 other main areas of blocks of flats with landscaping to be maintained; there is a new build development due for phased completion from December 2012 which has rear common areas in the flats and grassed and shrubbed areas. In Fife there is an estate of approx. 260 houses, with grassed areas and shrub beds. The Edinburgh area covers properties in Edinburgh and Rosyth in Fife. There is further new build projects in Glasgow in Cumming Drive and Cathcart. Each of these areas will have communal areas to be maintained. In Glasgow, Home Scotland currently has properties in a number of areas: — East Balornock — approximately 200 properties — a regeneration area with mostly houses with front and back gardens, however there are some communal areas to be maintained. — Castlemilk — approximately 130 properties. — Gathalmock — approximately 130 properties. — Robroyston approximately 90 properties. The Dumfries area covers properties throughout the Nithsdale part of Dumfries and Galloway, mainly centred in Dumfries where there are 2 main areas of blocks of flats and houses with grassed areas, shrub beds, annual planting beds and hanging baskets and numerous small areas dispersed across the rest of the area, mainly grassed areas and shrub beds. Dumfries area has a small amount of communal cleaning required. In Dundee, properties are spread across the city with a range of flatted and houses with front and back and gardens which again are the responsibility of the customer: There are properties in the following areas: — Mill O Mains — Douglas and Honeygreem — Whitfield — Stobswell — Blackness — City Road — Perth Road — South Tay Street.
