Tender description

The City of York Council are looking for partner(s) who will fund, develop and operate a dual-registered CareHome on a long lease granted by the council for the site at Burnholme, York. The new Care Home will have the capacity to provide residential and nursing care and care for those with dementia. The Council intends to block book and contract for up to 25 care beds within this care home that are at the negotiated rate of Target Price for Care under a Service Contract for a 10 year initial term with an option to extend for up to a further 5 years. The range of Care Home beds that the Council may require include offering residential care for residents with dementia; and nursing care for residents with dementia. The estimated contract value below is of the Service Contract on the basis of up to 25 blocked booked care beds over the maximum 15 year term. However, the number of care beds purchased under the Service Contract may vary over the duration of the arrangement and the Council may increase or decrease its requirements. The appointed provider will be required to take the identified site on a long term lease granted by the council It will need to finance the cost of acquiring the long lease from the Council as well a the construction, fit-out and operation of the new Care Home.
