Replacement of boilers in two buildings

Tender description

Harpenden Town Council is looking for a suitable contractor to replace the Council’s boiler systems at the Town Hall, Leyton Road and the adjacent Park Hall building, Leyton Road, Harpenden. This work would include: • Replace boilers and flues with room sealed type boilers. • Replace the control system. • Provide an automatic fill system. • Provide low loss header and new system pump. • Provide condensate lift pump to discharge boiler condensate to the drain. • Retain the existing boiler room ventilation system to provide room cooling using outside air. The Council requests that a written quotation be provided for carrying out these works. The Council would like included within the quote comparative information on the following replacement options (if feasible, please indicate): • Replacement of the two systems individually; • Replacement of the two systems with one system to service both Halls; • Whether a joint control system can be installed to service both Halls and the cost of doing so; • The cost of installing individual control systems; • An indication of the costs and optimum timescales if: • The replacement of the system/s at Park Hall and Town Hall are undertaken together as: a) a joint system, b) as individual systems; • The replacement of the system at Park Hall and Town Hall are undertaken separately (as individual systems). All contractors must complete a risk assessment and provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance, to a minimum of £5m and evidence of professional qualifications required to undertake the works. The successful contract will be awarded on price and the timescale for the work to be undertaken.
