Who Speclialist Work With Day to day the specialist will work with an existing community of 15 cross functional delivery teams and the individuals within them, that have varying levels of experience. The teams are split across London, Croydon and Sheffield. The specialist will also work closely with the Head of Product Management and Head of Agile Delivery to help increase the effectiveness and maturity of these teams and the individuals within them. In addition to this, there will also be some engagement with stakeholders who have an interest in Agile. What Specialists Work On This role includes : Coach, Mentor, Support, Teach and Inspire the Delivery teams; Work with multiple, cross-functional teams to deliver high value; Assess team ways of working effectiveness and identify areas to work with teams and individuals to help them continuously improve; Own, develop and drive a coaching backlog and the adoption of Agile practices and techniques; Train, develop, mentor and support a community of delivery managers; Challenge the business to think in an evolutionary manner and support the transformation of culture and ways of working; and Help create an open/trust based environment, enabling a focus on delivery/facilitates continuous improvement. Where the Work Takes Place Metro Point, Croydon and Marsham Street, Central London. Occasional travel to Sheffield required. Day rate to include Travel and Subsistence within the M25 area. Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements Required to be on site at the Home Office for the majority of the week. Must try to balance time across team sites in Metro Point, Croydon and Marsham Street, Central London. Travel arrangements to Sheffield will be covered. Work Location Metro Point, Croydon and Marsham Street, Central London. Occasional travel to Sheffield required. Day rate to include Travel and Subsistence within the M25 area. Security Clearance Have or willing to undergo - CTC minimum, SC preferred Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Experience in coaching a variety of disciplines within teams – product owners, developers, testers, user researchers, interaction designers etc. Be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and practical examples of how it’s been applied. Experience in introducing the use of metrics in teams that measure effectiveness such as lead time, cycle time, touch time to name a few. In depth understanding and direct experience of different agile and lean approaches in delivery teams. In depth understanding of the importance of and direct experience of influencing governance, process and culture across: portfolio management, programme and project team levels. Evidence of embedding agile tools and techniques across multiple teams and be able to use knowledge and experience to help team select the right tool for the right job. Demonstrate a broad experience of different industries, private and public, transactional digital services, redefining customer interaction and case studies of what good looks like. Demonstrable experience of creating sustainable change towards agile and lean ways of working for the better in an organisation. Proven ability to help teams understand and put into practice more advanced Kanban methods. Ability to work in environments that are undergoing complex change, working in an iterative manner, evolving conversations and understanding how far to challenge and when. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiating and influencing skills at all levels of seniority. Knowledge and experience of Lean working and principles Be able to talk confidently about the benefits of introducing BDD / TDD. We believe empowered teams deliver the best services: those who are doing the work should and do have the greatest understanding of the work - so ask the team! Get a working product/service in the hands of users early and often. Keep focus on quality, making sure the whole team is aware of any debt taken on Keep it simple and do less, whether that for features in the services or the way you are delivering.
