Gloucester Transport Hub - Highways Improvements

Tender Opportunity now live: A new multi-million pound Transport Hub including the construction of a new bus station is planned in Gloucester as a key element of the redevelopment and upgrade of the City Centre. Gloucestershire County Council on behalf of Gloucester City Council are releasing this tender opportunity for the Highways element of this scheme on the County Council’s electronic tendering portal, which aims to facilitate the development by undertaking modifications to the adjoining highway network to improve traffic access and flows in surrounding streets, and to enhance pedestrian access between the railway station and new transport hub. To minimize the impact of these works on existing traffic flows and current access to and from Market Parade and surrounding areas in the Centre of Gloucester, Highway works will be undertaken in 2 phases to accommodate Statutory Authority diversions and the bus station Construction Phase works being undertaken by Kier construction. The 40 week phased programme of Highway works has an estimated value of £1.25M and is expected to commence in February 2017 and be complete by December 2017. The proposed procurement route will be an Open Procedure using the NEC3 ECC form of Contract, Option ‘A’ Priced Contract with Activity Schedule.
