Tender description
This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) Only: Publication and Call for Competition will be Conducted once scope of works is fully defined and approved. The UK's Department for International Development (DFID) Lebanon Office is inviting potential suppliers to a Supplier Awareness and Briefing Event. The purpose of the event is for DFID Lebanon to set out and inform potential suppliers and partners of its programme pipeline, develop a better understanding of the market and inform of specific future procurement opportunities. Subject to Ministerial approval, these will include the Subsidised Temporary Employment Programme (STEP) and the RACE II Formal Education System Programme (RACE II). The STEP programme is an innovative pilot to support micro, small and medium sized private sector enterprises in Lebanon in growing their business and creating sustained jobs for Lebanese workers and temporary jobs for Syrian refugees. The RACE II programme will support public sector education service delivery and the strengthening of the formal education system with world class technical assistance in line with the Government of Lebanon's second Reaching. All Children with Education (RACE II) strategy, focused on equitable access, enhanced quality and strengthened systems. NB. It is DFID's intention to hold early market engagement events in Beirut and in Whitehall for both of these programmes in the near future. It should be noted that for education this is solely focussed on a demand driven technical assistance package for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. DFID expects this to comprise of national and international expertise and experts with proficiency in Arabic, English and French to meet the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's needs. The event is also an opportunity for suppliers to hear more about the work of DFID Lebanon, understand the DFID procurement processes and have the opportunity to meet DFID Lebanon programme managers on a 1:1 basis.
