Tender description

The Contract award values are provisional and a contract has not been awarded. The Challenger Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle (CRARRV) provides the British Army’s Heavy Armoured repair and recovery capability and currently has an OSD of 2035, expected to be extended to 2040. The vehicle is fitted with the Atlas 6000M8 crane system which has the capability to lift 6.5 tonnes allowing engine swaps for Heavy Armoured platforms in the field. The crane has been in-service on the CRARRV platform since 1982 and, due to growing obsolescence issues, there is a requirement to undertake a programme of work to identify replacements for the obsolete items whilst introducing increased safety to the crane system through a series of minor upgrades
