Battle of Medway Sponsorship

Medway Council intends to award an income generating services contract to raise sponsorship income for the June 2017 events that celebrate the 350 year anniversary of the Battle of Medway. The Council is seeking to award a contract to a suitably experienced and competent supplier. The Battle of Medway events are being organised by Medway Council to celebrate a major cultural and historical event that features heavily in the history of Medway, England and the Netherlands. There will be a series of events over a two week period with over 50,000 people attending. This two week festival is a valuable opportunity for brands to: 1. Build awareness of their business and brand 2. Be seen as a business that values Medway's visitors and residents and contributes to the local community Medway Council is seeking to generate a substantial incremental sponsorship income (>£100,000). This revenue shall be money paid directly to Medway Council in advance of the Battle of Medway celebratory events. The proposed split of revenue is contained in the Pricing schedule of the Invitation to Tender. Medway Council envisage this will be achieved by successfully selling one Gold Sponsor deal plus four Silver Sponsor packages. However, the Council is flexible on the ultimate structure. The project is to be conducted with sufficient transparency to ensure sponsors properly understand what they will receive for their money and with legal contracts in place reflecting the agreements reached. Medway Council wishes to appoint a sponsorship resource to proactively take the sponsorship opportunity out to the market place, generate interest, identify and engage potential sponsors, and successfully lead negotiations on the final commercial deals. This is a business to business project as the target market for selling this sponsorship opportunity is owners of substantial consumer brands. It will be up to the interested organisations to propose a commercial arrangement under which they would like to operate, but Medway Council are seeking an arrangement that is based on a supplier working on payment by results.
