Tender description

The physical scope of this work includes all works necessary to design (from R.I.B.A stage 3 for piling and stage 4 for decking), supply, manufacture and construct a concrete deck over King George V (KGV) Dock, to consist of pre-cast reinforced concrete planks with an in situ topping spanning onto pre-cast concrete beams supported on large diameter bored concrete piles with steel casings (typically spaced at 10m centres) founded beneath the dock bed. Average water depth is approximately 10m with the piles potentially extending a further 10m below the dock bed, averaging about 20m length per pile. The current estimated pile quantity is a total of 1,029, being, by diameter size, 13 no. at 1,500 mm diameter, 999 no. at 1,200 mm and 17 no. piles at 1,000 mm diameter. Contractors are required to provide all materials equipment and supplies to provide the works, including steel pile casings, concrete, reinforcing bar, pre-cast concrete beams and decking slab, etc. Contractors are also to provide any required equipment, including as appropriate, marine barges, other vessels, pontoon systems, piling rigs, piling consumables, concrete batch-plant, no free issue items are contemplated. LCY is intending to provide a compound with contractors offices and Welfare facilities.
