Tender description
Chase Terrace Technology College, Norton Canes High School and Great Wyrley High School are forward thinking, exciting and educationally challenging environments. All of the Schools' fundamental principles centre on the teaching and learning experience, with students at the core of all work. The Schools believe in academic rigour, the concept of improving on previous best and are proud of their ethos, their teachers and students and the learning relationship that they nurture. The tender project is seeking to appoint a Contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for Chase Terrace Technology College, Norton Canes High School and Great Wyrley High School. The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff. The basis and rationale that the clients require the successful contractor to operate to at all times, is being able to provide Schools that are fit for purpose and that the contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification. The contract being tendered is for three years in duration from 1 August 2017 until 31 July 2020 and will be fixed price in nature, with the contractor invoicing the client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis. It should be noted that the successful contractor will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term. Chase Terrace Technology College At present 16 cleaning operatives (some on double shift contracts) are employed to work between the hours of 6:30–8:30 and 15:30–17:30, Monday to Friday, which includes a Contract Supervisor undertaking cleaning and non-cleaning duties. Total contract hours are 210 per week. The value of the current contract is circa 106 000 GBP + VAT which includes daily cleaning and all periodic duties. Norton Canes High School At present 11 cleaning operatives are employed to work between the hours of 6:00–7:30 and 15:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, which includes a Contract Supervisor undertaking cleaning and non-cleaning duties, totalling 30 hours per week. The value of the current contract is circa £59,000.00 + VAT which includes daily cleaning and all periodic duties. Great Wyrley High School At present 14 cleaning operatives are employed to work between the hours of 5:30–8:00 and 15:30–18:00, Monday to Friday, which includes a Contract Supervisor undertaking cleaning and non-cleaning duties. The value of the current contract is circa £88,000.00 + VAT which includes daily cleaning and all periodic duties. Whilst the Schools prioritise value for money as a key objective of the competitive tender process, the Governing body is not obliged to accept the lowest price. The Schools' objectives: — To build upon the already improved standards of cleanliness within the Schools — To receive a service that complies with the service standards — To receive consistently high quality cleaning standards, via a motivated and fully staffed workforce — To generate an improved learning environment for all students, within the Schools — To receive pro-active management support for the cleaning staff — To hold regular review meetings with the successful contractor — To achieve overall value for money.
