Tender description

WTAIL has a requirement for allelic and second field (high) resolution HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DQB1, DPB1 typing along with CCR5 testing to support stem cell transplantation. The contractor must be able to deliver the HLA types of at least 4 000 stem cell donors at either second field (high) or allelic level typing for HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DQB1 and DPB1 using a sequencing approach that complies with an accredited Standard, for example, EFI or ASHI (or an acceptable equivalent). All of the above donors must also be tested for CCR5. The results of the testing at HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DQB1, DPB1 and CCR5 will be added to the WBMDR of donors as part of the recommendations of the UK Stem Cell Strategic Forum to increase the number of UK patients finding an acceptable match within a clinically appropriate time period.
