Tender description

Cornwall Council seeks to appoint a suitably experienced Operator to operate and manage Helston Museum in Helston, Cornwall under a lease and management contract with a revenue grant from Cornwall Council not exceeding 45 000 GBP per annum, subject to the Council's annual budget settlement. The lease and management agreement is for a period of up to 10 years subject to performance. The Council wishes to see the Operator continue to enhance the reputation of the museum and the visitor experience, leading to a greater diversity of users and increased visitor numbers over the term of the Contract. The Operator will also be expected to improve income generation for reinvestment in the management and operation of the museum, including collections care and development, staff development, services, events and activities. The Contract is due to commence on 1.4.2017. Cornwall Council is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Operator to operate and manage Helston Museum in Helston, Cornwall under a lease and management contract. The provision of the Services will result in the following outcomes: i) Full compliance with all relevant Regulations and Legislation has been maintained ii) Full compliance with Museum Accreditation iii) Improved sustainability and reduced dependence on the Cornwall Council revenue grant by increasing income generation and providing a Business Plan outlining the arrangements to improve and develop the Services iv) High satisfaction level for its services from visitors and other users v) Contributes towards the delivery of the Cornwall Museums' Strategy and the Cornwall Culture White Paper The full scope of this procurement will be set out within the Tender Documentation, Lease and Management Agreement.
