Tender description

The Trust is undertaking an significant 14 500 000 GBP project to deliver a brand new, state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit (CCU) at its Torbay hospital site. The new development will also provide dedicated facilities for relatives, as well as a warm and inviting new main entrance with space for a retail and café outlet. The Trust is looking for a suitable organisation(s) to operate out of these premises in this prominent location, to provide much needed facilities for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff as well as generate an income for the Trust. As a newly integrated organisation the Trust recognises there may also be other opportunities throughout the estate to provide further concessions outlets. Thus the trust also expects the successful provider to work with the Trust to explore possible concession opportunities throughout the estate with the view to establishing further concessions, subject to sufficient value being identified, during the initial term of the contract. Tenders are invited from parties interested in operating either one or both of the offered services referred to as (Lot 1) the Retail Outlet and (Lot 2) the Café Outlet. It is expected that the initial Outlets will take the form of a lease(s) with an initial term of 10 years subject to compliance with the terms therein. It is envisaged that the area will be available for fit from December and available to open to the public from the end of January 2017. The lease(s) will be outside The Landlord & Tenant Act 1954.
