Tender description

This framework is a multi-supplier framework for the provision of project management and ancillary technical services to assist the University in the implementation of its estates work. The University is currently embarking on circa 165 000 000 GBP campus capital projects programme which includes a Design Engineering Centre, Learning & Teaching Centre and a Health and Sports Centre as well as a series of smaller developments. In addition to these capital projects, there has been a programme of Stock Condition Works that has involved packages of works forming part of the University's long term maintenance programme. Other projects have involved the relocation, expansion or upgrading of existing facilities such as laboratory upgrades and extensions to existing buildings. The University envisages that the range of services include (but are not limited to): option appraisal/feasibility studies on potential new construction projects; preparation of business justification of a project; estates management and construction relation consultancy; procurement strategy; construction management; relocation services; programme management; project management (including employers' agent and contract administration services and specialist services monitoring e.g. environmental accreditation); contractor procurement; other building consultancy services; and the role of project sponsor. Services may be required to support the following types of construction projects: refurbishment projects; new build projects; alteration/extension projects' relocation projects; and re-engineering projects. The full scope of services required for a particular project will be set out on a project by project basis.
