UCC intend to appoint a Single Design Team for the Refurbishment of No 1 Lapps Quay & 16 Parnell Place for Cork University Business School (CUBS). UCC is issuing this information for applicants and is inviting Tenders under the open procedure for appointment of service providers. The purpose is award the commission to the successful service provider. The construction consultancy services required to carry out this project will be procured on the basis of a Architect led single design team appointment. The selected team will be required to provide the full range of consultancy services for the delivery of the project including but not limited to the following. 1. Employers Representative 2. Architectural Services incorporating Conservation Architecture 3. Civil/Structural & Fire Engineering Services. 4. Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services. 5. Quantity Surveying Services. 6. Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP). The existing buildings at No 1 Lapps Quay and 16 Parnell Place are Protected Structures ref PS 157. The historic building, which dates from 1842, was for years used by the Cork Savings Bank. It was then part of the Permanent TSB branch network before closing in 2012.The design team will need to work with the UCC Building & Estates Office projects team and the CUBS representatives to develop a design that accommodates the proposed new Executive Education and Research Building and ensures the conservation and repair of the external and internal fabric of the building.The new layout will incorporate fit for purpose Teaching Rooms, Offices, Research centers and be a location for small conferences and receptions.
