Tender description
There are 5 broad objectives comprising 16 projects and covering 30 priority vascular plant species: 1. To improve the conservation management of rare and threatened Fenland vascular plant species including underpinning research, survey, experimental management and trials - this work will focus on three s.41 species: Fen Orchid, Yellow Early Marsh-orchid & Fen Violet. 2. To improve the conservation management of rare and threatened Breckland vascular plant species including underpinning research, survey, experimental management and trials - this work will focus on thirteen s.41 species. 3. To create the conditions favoured by the s.41 species; Dune Gentian, together with a programme of monitoring both in advance of, and following management works at its only English locality; Braunton Burrows. 4. To enhance the effectiveness of AE management options (both targeting and delivery) for threatened arable plants: targeting eleven s.41 species within a further four NCAs identified through the Important Arable Plant Area project (East Anglian Chalk, Chilterns, Wealden Greensands & South Downs) - additional to the two pilots undertaken in 2015 and looking in detail at delivery effectiveness for three s.41 species on at least eight land holdings. 5. To revise the "Juniper dossier" which forms the basis of collated action across southern England for this s.41 shrub, drawing together information from the old dossier and new research and observations.
