Tender description
The vision for people with hearing problems is for them to receive high quality and efficient services, delivered closer to home, with short waiting times and high responsiveness to the needs of local communities. There is need identified for comprehensive services in the Eastern Locality of NEW Devon (that will accept referrals from patients registered with GPs in other areas), to provide all aspects of audiological care. The scope of the services are as follows: Routine Adult Hearing Aid Services: — Routine hearing assessment and provision and maintenance of hearing aids for adults Complex Audiology Services: — Paediatric hearing assessment and provision and maintenance of hearing aids for children — Complex hearing aid rehabilitation — Auditory processing disorder diagnosis and management — Balance diagnosis and rehabilitation — Severe tinnitus and hyperacusis therapy. NEW Devon CCG is looking to explore opportunities to commission comprehensive audiology services for adults and children with hearing difficulties who may benefit from hearing assessment and rehabilitation, including hearing aids as appropriate, with aftercare and support. As a result NEW Devon CCG are asking potential providers to complete an engagement questionnaire. The purpose of this questionnaire is to give providers the opportunity to help inform and understand how the CCG can approach some of the key issues associated with the delivery of the described services. The outcome of this is intended to help to inform the CCG how to approach opportunities to commission the services in the future to ensure that the best outcomes for patients are delivered. The estimated value described in sections II.1.5 and II.2.6 relates to the whole CCG (North, East and West localities). The estimated value for the Eastern locality represents approximately 2 852 000 GBP per annum.
