RRS Discovery Vessel Refit. A marine maintenance/servicing facility is required to undertake scheduled repairs and to carry out routine, mandatory maintenance and class survey work. Work is to be completed in shortest possible running days to enable post refit sea trials to be completed prior to its next science cruise. Main Tasks. The main tasks to be undertaken during this maintenance period are as follows: O/H one main engine (8WL20); move fwd davit arm to accommodate larger lifeboats. In order to allow the bidders to quote accurately for this requirement we expect all interested bidders to attend the vessel for inspection. RRS Discovery will be available for inspection on 15th February — 17th February in Las Palmas (Canary Island), with a backup slot on 17th March in Southampton. Please note: in order to be considered for this procurement bidders must attend one of the available slots to inspect the vessel.
