CIL is facilitating the development of a flagship tourism product of an “All Island Lighthouse Trail” (AILT) around the coast of Ireland, to be instantly recognisable and marketed both nationally and internationally. The project is grant-funded under the EU INTERREG IVA programme, and 5 lighthouses in Donegal and Northern Ireland are to be concurrently redeveloped under separate construction contracts as part of the same grant funding. In developing the All-Island Lighthouse Trail, CIL has already engaged a consortium of expert associates to develop the brand and interpretation elements associated with the All-Island Lighthouse Trail. In this phase of work, CIL is seeking to develop the material, platforms and means to reach and engage with visitors and communicate what makes a lighthouse experience unmissable as part of their visitor experience. The full service provision needs to be delivered by 30th April 2015 in order to meet target operational dates and grant funding deadlines.
