Cheshire East Council, through the Delivering Differently in Neighbourhoods programme, are looking to pilot an innovative 12 month project to deliver a number of health early intervention and prevention services from children centres or other similar establishments located in the Macclesfield area of the borough. The service provider will be expected to engage local residents and form a Community Interest Company which will be used as a pilot to drive Cheshire East Councils community hub initiative across Macclesfield. The Provider will be expected to run a minimum of 20 participatory events during the course of the contract. The purpose of this service is to provide local health early intervention and prevention services with the underlying aim to engage with the community and promote community development. The objectives of this service are to provide a range of health early intervention and prevention services 1. Consult with local residents, local stakeholders and Cheshire East Council to deliver a range of sessions such as: ? Smoking cessation ? Nutritional classes ? Falls prevention ? Alcohol awareness ? Confidence building 2. Plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate the services required alongside community participation where appropriate. 3. Engage with local residents with the aim to encourage ownership through volunteering. It will be the role of the service provider to pass on the skills, knowledge and materials to enable local residents to take ownership through volunteer coordination. 4. To create and develop community engagement to establish a Community Interest Company which will be part of the community hub network with the support from Cheshire East Council. 5. To undertake and establish the responsibilities through community engagement of the Community Interest Company prior to its existence ? Begin to apply for external funding ? Maintain a local directory of community hub activities ? Work collaboratively with local partnerships to ensure the correct service provision is available on each local estate
