Refuse and waste related services

Tender description

The Authority requires the services of a competent Contractor or Contractors to provide a range of waste management services for use by bodies covered by NI Public Procurement Policy. It is envisaged the scope of the contract will include the removal, recycling/composting, recovery and/or safe disposal of non-hazardous waste which includes, dry office waste, residual waste, food waste, bulky waste and offensive waste. Some hazardous waste may also be required by some bodies. Waste streams may be added, amended or removed prior to going to tender. Not all Clients will require the full range of waste streams. Current plans show a collaborative contract could be awarded in July 2017. The contract will be sub-divided into lots. The number and descriptions of lots is to be determined and could be based on geographical regions within NI, by waste stream or a combination of both. Based on current business volumes the total value of waste management services is 3 300 000 GBP per annum. It is the Authority's intention to engage with potential service providers from the industry to understand market structure and capacity issues for providing waste management services to public bodies within central government, health, transport, education and housing sectors in Northern Ireland. CPD plans to hold supplier information sessions in Northern Ireland during 7.11.2016 and 8.11.2016. It is envisaged that these sessions will provide the Authority with the opportunity to obtain feedback from the marketplace.
