Prior Information Notice (PIN) for a Radiation Protection and Medical Physics Service

Tender description

A Radiation Protection and Medical Physics Service (incorporating the use of ionising & non ionising radiation) is required at both main hospital sites (York and Scarborough) and community settings, i.e. Selby War Memorial Hospital, Chapel, Clarence Street, Mobile screening trailers, Malton Hospital, Bridlington Hospital, Whitby Hospital and Alfred Bean Hospital for a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. These services cover diagnostic x-ray equipment, ultrasound equipment, isotope imaging equipment, laser equipment, ultraviolet equipment & magnetic resonance imaging equipment. Integral to the service will be the provision of a Radiation Protection Adviser in relation to IRR 99 and a Medical Physics Expert in relation IRMER 2000. The latter specifically to cover radiation physics, radiation protection, diagnostic radiology & nuclear medicine. The contract will be for an initial term of one year with the scope to extend by 3 further periods of 12 months. In the first instance please express and interest.
