NHS Dorset CCG Spinal Surgery Service

Tender description

This is a notice for early engagement with providers. NHS Dorset is inviting comments from qualified providers on the service design including the specification for the Dorset spinal surgery service. The Dorset spinal service is part of a continuum of care built upon a robust multidisciplinary approach to support people with spinal problems. Physiotherapy, rheumatology, the Dorset Musculoskeletal Service and back pain services work in a united way to support alternatives to surgery for the majority of people with spinal problems. Effective triage of patients leads to the identification of patients who would benefit from a spinal surgical opinion and potential surgical intervention. The Dorset spinal surgery service is an integral part of the whole pathway for spinal services and is required to liaise with the interface services utilising Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and effective communication to ensure best care for patients with refractory spinal problems. If you wish to work with NHS Dorset CCG providers can express an interest via procurement.bp@dorsetccg.nhs.uk no later than Monday 17 October 2016. Upon expressing an interest providers will be sent a draft specification to comment upon. Providers have until midday on 28 October 2016 to provide comments. The purpose of this is to obtain feedback from providers regarding the service design including the draft specification. Participation is no indication of a commitment to participate in any subsequent procurement process, nor does it infer any special status on those providers who do submit an interest. Neither will this notice or any organisation’s expression of interest commit the CCG to undertake any procurement of the spinal surgical service and the CCG has a right to withdraw the notice. The procurement of this service will be subject to a separate advert. Providers will be expected to express an interest should they wish to take part in the procurement process when the separate advert is placed on the e procurement portal.
