Tender description

The Purchaser is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the provision of a flexible search solution (system) to provide context-sensitive results, smart suggestions and better targeted results. The University currently uses a generic Google custom search hosted and managed by Google for overall site search. To provide a more effective and useful solution for our users and staff, we want to implement a configurable search solution which provides a more accurate, flexible and intelligent search experience, independent of geographical location. In particular we wish to procure a solution which allows content removal and can be accessed by visitors from the People’s Republic of China. The solution will also feature back-end analytics tools to help inform and improve our future content creation and structure. Implementation will be multi-phased – initially we plan to cover the public website, with other indexable sources potentially being added in the future. Bids are invited from established and experienced providers of search software systems and services with a proven track record of use in a university or similar context.
