Torfaen Children and Family Services Division are seeking to appoint a bespoke support care package for a 14 year old young man who has mild symptoms of Cornelia De Lange Syndrome, a rare condition that affects between 1 in 100 000 babies born. Children with this syndrome are small at birth and remain small compared to children of the same age. All children with this diagnosis have delayed or limited speech development. They are slow learners but this varies from mild to severe. This young man has ASD and also suffers from development delay, bilateral hearing loss, left hydro-nephrosis and hydroureter, dysplasia of the hips together with significant behavioural issues.
