Operation of a refuse site

Tender description

South Tyneside Council wishes to notify its intention to reprocure its service to operate and manage the Recycling Village. It is intended to let the contract for an initial 3 year period with an option to extend for a further 3 x 12 month period. Supplier Engagement — we would like to consult with potential providers of this service. Please note that participation in this consultation or registering interest will not give any advantage in this procurement exercise, but is purely an opportunity to potentially shape the requirements. We will consult with all interested parties to get views and comments on the planned approach to market. Your responses will help to inform the procurement but we cannot guarantee that all views expressed will be taken into account. The consultation event is expected to occur in mid October 2016. Lot 1 will mirror the existing operation where the operator manages the facility and transports the waste to the end outlets identified by the Council. Lot 2 will involve the operator managing the facility and transporting the waste to the end outlets identified by the Council, with an incentivisation process included to try to maximise recycling. Lot 3 will involve the operator managing the facility and identifying and transporting the material to their end outlets.
