Why the Work is Being Done The Government’s IT Strategy advocates a disaggregated approach to IT provision, such that products and services are sourced from a wide range of suppliers to encourage a more innovative and dynamic approach to service delivery. The Home Office intends to provide a fully integrated set of IT services across a more competitive EUC landscape by establishing a disaggregated environment. Problem to Be Solved A Delivery Partner is required to support the programme team providing the following services: 1) Create End User Device builds and configurations that can operate with our cloud-based management infrastructure 2) Image End User Devices and deploy to users - provide ongoing support to expanding user base 3) Build components of our cloud based End User Device management infrastructure 4) Management resource for Print service deployment 5) Expert advice and practical assistance with implementation of cloud based infrastructure and services, including migration of data and applications into cloud 6) Expert advice and practical assistance with Office 365 design & implementation Who Are the Users Having received an End User Device I need to be able to operate the device, access applications, end-user data and services So I can effectively complete my daily activities Early Market Engagement The programme has already engaged with a number of suppliers through the previous procurement that currently provides services to support End-User Services (an earlier G Cloud procurement exercise) Work Already Done The current End User Compute team have already completed 2 initial rollouts and have already established a user base of 800. The solution is understood and being developed against the demands of live opertaions, for fiurther rollouts to extend the user base. Work has also been carried out on the design of a new file storage solution to hold migrated legacy end-user data, the design of a new SharePoint Online based file storage solution for use with O365, and on the design, build and test of a cloud-based environment for our eDiscovery service. Existing Team The existing programme is a blend of Civil Servants complemented by contract staff and specialist companies. Total team size is in the region of 50. Current Phase Not applicable Work Location Central London - the team maybe relocated to Croydon in south London - some positions maybe loacted in Manchester Working Arrangments The End User Compute team is expected to be onsite atleast 4 days a week - to promote quick collaboration and team interaction across the varied services.The team deploying devices to users and providing ongoing support to expanding user base, will be onsite full time. Security Clearance All staff engaged on the programme must be security cleared to SC level (or be prepared to undergo clearance process prior to being engaged). Additional T&Cs Additional terms under the following categories will apply: Financial Reporting Acceptance Certificates Change in level of resources required Day Rate Card Expenses Skills & Experience Experience in the design, delivery and configuration of Windows 10 and Active Directory Group Policy Experience in building and scaling of System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring server Experience in Software Provisioning & Packaging and COTS Application deployment Ability to troubleshoot to a highly detailed and deep level in an End User Services environment Team player able to explain complex End User Services technical solutions in a simple manner to decision makers Ability to create comprehensive, structured documentation across design, implementation and support of End User Services Ability to design processes to support technical delivery of End User Services Experience rolling out devices to users in a Windows 8 & 10 environment – on a variety of hardware including tablets. The role includes device build/image/configuration and User familiarisation sessions. Providing IT software and hardware support – via updates from IT Service Desk or drop in to desk Strong customer service skills. Flexible approach to support provision. Constructive response to ad-hoc queries. Shift pattern 8am-8pm Mon-Fri provision of on-call weekend support on (12pm- 4pm) Disciplined service delivery approach, high level of attention to detail. Ability to follow structured environment process. Consistent accurate use of tools. Automation to maintain effective management records Experience of major infrastructure deployments of managed print services (1000 endpoints+) experience managing across suppliers of End User Services experience of creating and reporting on scalable deployment processes in relation to End User Services Experience of deploying/migrating applications built using a broad range of current and heritage technologies to a Windows 10 desktop environment Experience of migrating Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel and Access) using Microsoft Office 20xx to Microsoft 365; Experience of application and desktop virtualisation technologies e.g. Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenDesktop At least 1 years’ experience (within the last 3 years) of designing, building and supporting Cloud-based infrastructure At least 1 years’ experience (within the last 3 years) of implementing O365 in a large organisation At least 1 year’s Exchange Mailbox migration experience (within the last 5 years), in a large organisation with legacy mailboxes dating back 10 years or longer Nice to Haves A minimum of five years’ experience (within the last 10 years) designing and building Windows desktop environments A minimum of five years’ experience (within the last 10 years) designing and building SCCM environments A minimum of two years’ experience (within the last 5 years) with the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack A minimum of five years’ experience (within the last 10 years) designing Group Policy design for Windows desktop environments Experience with multi-site, 10,000 user site migration projects Able to work collaboratively with other teams for route cause analysis purposes in relation to End User Services Experience in building Windows devices following an automated process Knowledge of ServiceNow tool for operating service management processes, including incident, problem and change management. Experience and contacts across the Home Office Experience of deploying printers, and push to pull business change Some technical awareness around AD, DCHP, print servers, Cirrato. A minimum of 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) in upgrading and re-hosting Citrix based applications; A minimum of 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) in upgrading and re-hosting Microsoft End User applications. At least 1 years’ experience (within the last 3 years) of designing, building and supporting Cloud-based infrastructure specifically in Microsoft Azure Experience of integrating IT solutions in a multi-supplier, disaggregated environment Experience (1) direct project delivery as member of supplier or in-sourced team; (2) acting as an “intelligent customer” where significant project delivery has been outsourced to a large organisation No. of Suppliers to Evaluate 10 Proposal Criteria Team structure, organisational make-up and quality of submitted CVs.
