Introduction The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) is the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in the UK. Details of the WEA’s mission, structure, governance and performance are provided in the 2014/5 Report of the Trustees and Financial statements. Further information is available from our website: www.wea.org.uk The Workers’ Educational Association are seeking to procure External Audit services for: a) The provision of an External Audit function to undertake a number of specific audits each year. b) A specification of requirements is given below. Tenders are to be from suitably qualified and experienced registered auditors with significant charity auditing experience, for the function of external audit to include the following:- (i) Auditing of annual accounts for the WEA as a whole and for WEA Scotland as a separate entity in the current Charity SORP format; (ii) VAT and tax advice and assistance, both within the UK and Scotland (iii) Attendance at Audit Committee and Trustees’ meetings as required; (iv) To provide advice and support to the Chief Operating Officer and the Head of Finance and Business Planning on accounting issues from time to time.
