Tender description

Derby City Council commissioned a scoping study for the Low Carbon Transport Technology Centre concept in 2014 with a final report produced in June 2015. The Low Carbon Transport Technology Centre (LCTTC) concept can be described as: ‘An engineering centre focused on bringing together OEMs, the supply chain and university expertise to engage in applied R&D, testing and training. The focus of the Centre will be on the deployment of electric, fuel cell and hybrid power-train and smart system integration in vehicle applications for the bus, rail, commercial, off-highway, military and marine markets’. We require consultancy support to help progress the LCTTC from the initial concept feasibility stage into a pilot delivery phase. This will include the development of the following tasks alongside market testing and pilot delivery to include, and not limited to: — A programme of regular business networking; — Generate an active database; — Develop the concept and deliver an inaugural LCTT festival / conference in partnership with the 3 Council's; — Devise content, identify venues and deliver a handful of online and attended training courses and marke; — Introduction to Electrical Vehicle technologies; — Introduction to Energy Management and Storage; — Business case analysis for low carbon vehicle applications; — Light-weighting and composite materials; — Battery technologies and working with batteries; — Hybrid-electric vehicle architectures; The vision is that during the 4 years of the pilot project additional funding will be sought to enable the project to progress from a pilot scheme.
