Tender description

The Home Office would like to establish a contract for the supply of Mechanical Materials Engineering Services to Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST). The service will involve research and development to enable bespoke prototyping. The contract is divided into two lots. Lot 1: The requirement is for 3 Production Technicians. The contract will commence 23.11.2016. The contract term will be for 12 months with options to extend twice. Each contract extension period will be for 12 months. The total number of years including contract extensions will be 3 years. There will be no further contract extensions beyond 23.11.2019. Lot 2: The requirement is for 1 Computer-aided design engineer(CAD). The contract will commence 5th September 2017. The contract will run for 12 months. To bring contract terms in line for both lots, there will be two extension periods. First extension period will be for 8 months and the second for 7 months. The total number of years including contract extensions will be 2 years and 3 months. There will be no further contract extensions beyond 23.11.2019. The service would enable bespoke prototyping as well as development of niche products for law enforcement customers. All staff working on site ‘must be security’ cleared at the appropriate level. Those who currently do not hold the relevant clearance must be willing to be security cleared at ‘SC level’. The primary location will be at St. Albans, Sandridge, Hertfordshire. However, there is possibility of location change in the future, although the site would remain in the South of England. The services within the scope of this requirement are divided into 2 lots: Lot 1: 3 Production Technicians Lot 2: 1 Computer-aided design engineer(CAD) Bidders will need to be prepared to meet all costs associated with bidding, including the submission of technical/commercial documentation and any other reasonable requests to expediate the submission and evaluation of bids. Bidders can submit for one or both lots, each submission will be evaluated and scored separately. Bidders can be awarded more than one lot.
