Tender description

The National Infrastructure Commission is looking to commission work to support its Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford project. This requirement is looking for bidders to identify and assess the different types of development that could deliver significant new housing across the corridor to answer the question “what form might new development take?” This assessment should include but not be limited to: densification and urban extensions, new garden towns, cities and villages; the respective implications for new or upgrades to existing infrastructure; as well as their ability to deliver quality housing and a built environment which maintains and or/enhances quality of life for communities. This assessment should also draw conclusions and make recommendations as to the most appropriate form(s) of housing development to meet the needs of the corridor, meeting housing needs and supporting jobs and growth. The National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) is an independent body that enables long term strategic decision making to build effective and efficient infrastructure for the UK.
