Coventry City Council is looking to award a contract for the design and construction of infrastructure works at Whitley South based on NEC option A contract. The Whitley South project comprises infrastructure to service a 58 acre development adjacent to the A45 and Rowley Road in the area around Coventry Airport. At this stage it is expected that Coventry City Council will be the employer on behalf of the 3 Highways Authorities, namely Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and Highways England but we reserve the right to change this position as the procurement process progresses. It is our view that a change in this position will not fundamentally affect the procurement. Coventry City Council is procuring on behalf of itself, Highways England and Warwickshire County Council. Coventry City Council is the sole employer. The project consists of the following three areas of work, making up one works contract which sit within three respective Highway Authorities: — Rowley Road Access and Roundabout (Warwickshire County Highways) — North of A45 Jaguar Land Rover Link roads (Coventry City Highways) — A45 Over Bridge and A45 Festival Island (Highways England Works) The scheme will also include the following: development plot earthworks development new utility services development surface water and foul drainage development landscaping The Council estimates this scheme will be in the region of GBP 20-GBP 25 000 000.
