Tender description
The purpose of this procurement is to commission a Carer Support Service to contribute to an improvement in the wellbeing of carers in the borough, strengthen and sustain them in their caring roles, and enable the Council to enact the new duties to Carers now in force under the Care Act 2014. Ealing Council is looking to award the contract to one provider, or a consortium of providers, for a period of three years, with a possible extension of two further years. Ealing Council has a statutory duty to provide services to carers. The nature of the service is to support carers of people of all ages with all conditions. This will include, amongst others, parent/carers of children and young people with disabilities and young carers aged 8 to 18. The new Carer Support Service will operate from April 2017 and will replace the current Carers’ Centre arrangements and formalise the range of services provided to carers in the borough. .
