Tender description

3 Year Pilot project for Independent Travel Training within Special Educational Needs. The council will pay on a payments by results method. This is a 3 year contract with HCT to deliver Independent Travel Training in the London Borough of Lambeth. The service is to increase the independence of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) when travelling to and from school. HCT will recruit and train travel buddies, be involved with development work with child and parents and develop and buy-in cooperation, completed assessments of the young people referred to the service, train them, and monitor outcomes and completed follow-up checks. All children will be assessed individually for suitability for the service. The contract is unique in that the Council will only pay once the outcome is achieved. There are currently no providers in the market who can provide such a scheme in this way.
