As a leading investor with an established interest in housing we are keen to explore with you the commercial opportunities which are emerging in London as the need for new housing solutions moves up the agenda in the capital. There are potential new models and partnerships being explored across the city involving the full range of investment activities, including: property development, the acquisition of existing properties (including conversions to residential from other uses), temporary and longer-term leasing agreements, the development and delivery of ‘modular’ and portable homes using off-site construction, and exploring viable models of ownership, part-ownership and renting. Working with London boroughs to deliver some or all of the above can help you to develop your portfolio while providing settled homes for the many families in London whose housing future is currently uncertain. WREN Group is a collaborative partnership between four London Boroughs: Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Enfield, and Newham working together on a range of projects relating to housing issues. We are already working in partnership with a range of companies, and in our most recent collaboration have created WREN Housing Solutions, an innovative online procurement system that streamlines the provision of accommodation for homeless families. Building on our achievements to date the WREN Group is now looking for new, forward-thinking commercial partners to work with on meeting the housing needs of our residents. Collectively the WREN boroughs have placed almost 9,000 households in privately owned properties in the last year who were looking for a settled housing solution. With the escalating demand for affordable housing in London, that number will only increase. We should make clear that the solutions we envisage are by no means restricted to London itself — we recognise that we also need to develop options for our customers which may involve them moving to other areas.
