Summary of the work The requirement is for a technical data migration project manager, responsible for all aspects of data migration from an Adabas/Natural mainframe environment. The candidate will require a deep understanding of migration- both of data and associated business logic, re-platforming and data readiness within the public sector environment. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 6 months with the option to extend for up to an additional 18 months Latest start date 31/08/2016 Maximum Day Rate £850 per day maximum - for an exceptional candidate Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will be required to work with internal teams, other suppliers and external stakeholders. Working directly with the Portfolio Manager in a programme team environment. What Specialists Work On The role working within NLEDP. It requires a deep understanding of all aspects of migration from a Natural/Adabas database mainframe environment. The specialist will oversee the data migration strategy, and document relevant business logic and rules in order to migrate to a new system. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition to the target platform managing trial runs, data reconciliation, data mapping, readiness assessments as well as informing the development of replacement services. The role demands significant experience in Data Architecture and robust Project Management, able to manage both business and technical aspects of migration. Skills & Experience • (25 points)Recent (in the last 4 years) demonstrable experience of migrating data from an Adabas-based mainframe environment to a modern open system. • (20 points) Recent (in the last 4 years) demonstrable experience of data analysis, cleansing, mapping, data reconciliation, data resolution and warehousing. • (10 points) Recent (in the last 4 years)demonstrable experience of co-ordinating activities across various programme work streams to ensure an effective, efficient and joined up approach to data migration activities • (25 points) Recent(in the last 4 years) demonstrable experience of defining the data Migration Strategy and seeing it through to test, dry runs and live implementation • (10 points) Experience of Software AG replicator. • (10 points) Experience of working with Natural to extract business rules. Nice to Haves work within an agile environment Work Location Hendon Data Centre, Collindale Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DF Croydon Working Arrangments 5 days a week, based at the Home Office in Marsham Street /Croydon /Hendon Data Centre. Security Clearance A minimum of SC clearance is required – candidates must be cleared or have the ability to be cleared.
