Housing Related Support for Offenders in Cambridge, Huntingdon and Wisbech

Provision of specific offender accommodation services in the three localities of Cambridge City, Huntingdon and Wisbech. These services are at the heart of the agenda: 'to complement higher level statutory provision through a range of housing related support options that will intervene early, by targeting lower levels of need, to prevent or delay the requirement for more intensive involvement’ Through the targeted interventions we expect to see strong evidence of a clear impact by reduced offending behaviour. We also expect that these interventions will be flexible to meet the personal needs of service users and that results are achieved via strong partnership working. The services are expected to facilitate service users moving on from the service at the earliest opportunity. In addition to helping individuals to develop their ability to live independently, services will assist the individual to gain access to permanent accommodation appropriate to their needs. To achieve this, successful providers are expected to address the factors contributing to homelessness in the first place that, if left un-addressed may affect the ability of the individual to become more independent or place them at higher risk of repeat homelessness in the future.
