Tender description
This is an award notice and this opportunity is now closed. Please see Section V) (Award of Contract) for further details. Hertfordshire County Council is tendering for Community Short Break Services to run a range of different services, across Hertfordshire, which form part of the Community Short Breaks — Activities Extra element of the Short Breaks Local Offer (SBLO). These services are required to be delivered during weekday evenings/after school and weekends during term time and where there is sufficient demand from families during the Hertfordshire school holidays. The services are for children and young people aged 5-19 years with disabilities who reside in Hertfordshire. Service Users and their families should be provided with a menu of choice of Community Short Break services that they can access at the times outlined below and should include (albeit not limited to) the services that are outlined in Schedule 2, Schedule 3, Schedule 4, Schedule 5 and Schedule 6 of the Service Specification: — Term time evening services providing coverage throughout the year; — School Holiday services providing full coverage throughout the school holiday. Projects that provide an innovative solution for providing The Service are encouraged. The Provider is encouraged to build on commissioned provision by developing further services purchased directly by parents / carers such as wrap around childcare for working families, sibling activities, etc. and these should be paid for at cost or subsidised through other funding / charitable grants / partnerships. Any after-school group based service provided should be for a minimum of 2 hours in duration (unless otherwise agreed with the Service Users and their families); however the length of time that the Service User attends for should be flexible around theirs and their family's needs. Any daytime, holiday and weekend group based service should be for a minimum of 4 hours in duration (unless otherwise agreed with the Service Users and their families) and the length that the Service User attends for should be flexible around theirs and their family's needs.
