Somerset County Council (SCC) is a key partner in the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and currently acts as its accountable body. The LEP has been established as a community interest company. To date, the LEP has been successful in attracting £195m of Growth Deal capital funding alongside revenue funding in excess of £500k. In its role as accountable body, SCC needs to be able to access appropriate legal support, advice and guidance to ensure these funds are managed in accordance with legal requirements. The initial specification of requirements will include: • Advice and guidance to review Service Level Agreements, and other associated working arrangement documents, between the LEP and its partners, including the upper tier local authorities of Somerset, Devon, Torbay and Plymouth; • Advice and guidance in the development and ongoing management of the funding agreements and drafting of suitable templates for use between the accountable body and funding recipients; • Support to the LEP Community Interest Company CIC in respect of working under the Articles of Association. SCC is looking to enter into a contract which would, subject to the terms of the contract, run for a period of 2 years from the date of the letter of appointment. Keywords: Legal Services
