Tender description

The Sequel system from Pacific Biosciences combines single molecule resolution, long read sequencing and uniform coverage to comprehensively characterise genetic complexity including structural variants, indels, copy number variants, micro-satellites, haplotypes and phasing. Sequel offers the advantage of moving beyond simply cataloguing SNPs and allows targeting all relevant genomic variation. Importantly, low complexity regions such as repeat expansions, CpG rich promoters and flanking regions of transposable elements can be sequenced without bias using Sequel sequencing platform. These regions have remained elusive for analysis using all other methods of sequencing. The purchase of a Sequel long read sequencing system.
