Invitation to General Form of Further Competition Request for proposal RM1045 Network Services Lot 2 Local Connectivity Services Wireless Phase II BACKGROUND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is currently in the process of upgrading its Wireless infrastructure as our existing infrastructure is end of life and is now incompatible with emerging technologies. With the growth of medical and mobile devices in the workplace (both personal and business) being issued we need to ensure the wireless infrastructure will be resilient enough to handle a huge number of devices and the data they will be generating. The Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust also provides wireless coverage at 2 other sites (Ellesmere Port Hospital and Bassendale Road Microbiology) propagating all of the SSID’s listed above 1. Ellesmere Port Hospital (approx. 20APs) 2. Bassendale Microbiology (approx. 10APs) BACKGROUND TO THE COUNTESS OF CHESTER HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.
