RFT for Supply of RIB Mounted Vibration Dampening Seating

Tender description

Although predominantly shore based, SFPA Officers are regularly required to embark on the seagoing platforms of other agencies in support of those agencies in the conduct of inspections at sea. Additional to this, the SFPA maintains a small fleet of RIBs to facilitate the inspection of the ‘in-shore’ fishing fleet operating around our coast. This fleet currently comprises two (2) in number XS 700, 7m RIBs powered by 2 x 100hp Yamaha 4 Stroke outboard engines. These craft are scheduled to be replaced in the near future by two (2) in number AC 750, 7.5m RIBs powered by 2 x 120hp Suzuki 4 Stroke outboard engines. Seating in all 4 craft is the standard ‘jockey’ style. The operational footprint of SFPA RIBs is to complete in-shore patrols to a radius of 3nm offshore and in wind conditions not exceeding (Beaufort) Force 4 with associated sea conditions. The Authority intends to establish an agreement with one goods provider for the provision of RIB Mounted Vibration Dampening Seating to address a recently identified hazard of Whole Body Vibration (WBV) to the SFPAs RIB Crews. This Request for Tender (RFT) issued by the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority invites suitable companies to deliver within a specific timescale seating as per the specification set down in Appendix 1, and that fully addresses the Award Criteria in section 3.2 below. The successful tenderer will liaise directly with the Health & Safety Officer of the Authority, as well as the Implementation Team responsible for ensuring the RIBs under construction are sea-worthy and complies with all identified Health & Safety requirements.
