Tender description

Welsh Water has a requirement for a refresh of its DMA (District Metering Area) metering estate. The estate comprises circa 2 500 meters. These range from 40mm to 150mm in size. Of these 2 500 meters, around 600 have been identified as ‘high risk’ and will require replacement with a suitable battery powered meter. The current meter estate consists of mechanical Kent 2000/3000 series (15 to 25 years old) and will require replacement as nearing end of life service. The main driver for replacement is data quality / consistency, enabling improved performance to the Water Demand team. These will replaced on a phased approach over the next 5 years.
