Tender description

The Council are seeking a service which will provide fun, exciting and challenging activities to children and young people with a significant disability during school holidays. Play scheme places will be offered to children and young people aged 5-18 years and who are eligible to start primary 1 and continue in school education. The Council are currently gathering information from stakeholders through questionnaires and focus group events. As part of the design process, the Council would like to invite all interested potential suppliers to a Market Awareness event to discuss the Service. The Council are seeking interest from suppliers who are able to provide some, part or all of the requirements from all possible venues. The purpose of the focus group event is to collate input from the supply market. Note: by submitting your interest you are agreeing to further engagement with the Council. The Council may decide to competitively tender this contract in the future. All children accessing this service will have a significant disability which affects their ability to access activities within their community. The provider(s) will be required to support and manage the health care needs, challenging behaviours, personal care requirements and emotional well being of each child and young person. The majority of children will receive up to 24 days of service each year. A group of children may receive up to 50 days of service each year. Parents will make a financial contribution to the cost of the service which the Provider will collect. Transport will be offered to families meeting a criteria to be decided by the council. This venue based play scheme will be specifically designed to cater for the needs of 13 — 18 year old children and young people with significant disabilities. Disabled children and young people will be supported to maintain friendships during the school holidays, included in their communities, valued and have their opinions gathered on how to develop the service. The service will offer a range of fun activities. These will utilise the skills of play workers to deliver a range of; play, craft, outdoor, music, sport and other related activities, for example. The Council are seeking a service provider to manage and provide a flexible bank of staff to support disabled children into mainstream activities. This is a specifically designed service for a small group of children with significant challenging behaviour. The Council are seeking a provider of residential camps for children and young people with disabilities. The duration of the residential camps may range from 2 — 5 days. The Council are seeking a service to provide activity days for children and young people with disabilities.
