Workplace Health Improvement Programme

Tender description

The Isle of Wight Council (“the Authority”) invites Tenders from suitably qualified providers (“Tenderers”) for the provision of the Workplace Health Improvement Programme. The contract is to run from 09 January 2017 for a period of 1 year with the option to extend for a further period of up to 1 year at the sole discretion of the Authority or starting at a mutually convenient earlier date by agreement between the Authority and the successful contractor in accordance with their programme of work. The purpose of the Workplace Health Improvement Programme is to support lifestyle behaviour change for individuals by engaging with the Island’s businesses to improve the health and wellbeing of employees, through reducing levels of smoking-related illness, obesity, disability, premature death and health inequality. People’s general health and wellbeing will be improved by introducing workplace policies, practices and interventions that: • Encourages a leadership and management style that supports and improves wellbeing • Provide NHS Health Checks to those staff who are eligible as set out in section 4.3 and 4.4. Where persons are not eligible, a personal health improvement plan will be offered. • Supports staff to stop smoking • Supports a culture of healthy eating and provide information on how to produce healthy meals on a budget • Promote mental health and emotional wellbeing • Support staff to consider their use of alcohol and strategies to reduce present levels The closing date for receipt of Tenders is 14:00Hrs on 20 September 2016. The annual budget is £70,000.00.
